As a thankyou for an amazing open evening on Wednesday, we treated all of our fantastic staff and children to ice cream and bubbles from the ice cream man! Just a pity that after the fabulous weather we’ve had recently, it rained all afternoon! At least ice cream tastes great no matter what the weather!

Senior 1 school holiday

Just waved our senior 1 class off to Borwick Hall for the week; everyone was very excited! It looks like they are going to have fantastic weather all week which is great for all of the outdoor activities that they have planned. Vicky is hoping to update us all daily on their class blog so keep a look out for her posts.

St George’s day parade

The St George’s day parade was a huge success and we won first prize for best float! Everyone really enjoyed themselves and I felt so proud of all of our children, parents and staff. Thank you to everyone who came today to make our float entry such a huge success; the judges and spectators were full of praise for our hard work. Special thanks must also go to Wayne and Julie (Harry’s mum and dad) and Jo (Jacob’s mum) for helping us to decorate our float yesterday- as you can see from the “before” photo it was a huge job and we couldn’t have done it without them.

Kirkham Grammar fundraising

20140121-131118.jpg< Once again our dear friends at Kirkham Grammar Junior, Infant and Pre-School have raised much needed funds for Pear Tree. Mrs Roberts and Marshall, a pupil at the school, visited Pear Tree on Wednesday 15th January 2014 and brought us a cheque for £400 which was a wonderful surprise. The pupils at the school had also donated their prize for 'Citizenship'- 2 beautifully illustrated books "The Wind in the Willows" and "An Arctic Tale". Marshall is one of a group of Kirkham Grammar pupils who comes to Pear Tree every week to work alongside our pupils in music- delivered by our specialist music teacher Anna Szuminska. Thank you so much to all pupils and staff at Kirkham Grammar Junior, Infant and Pre-School!
